ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
This Turquoise Multi-Beads Beaded Whimsical Necklace features a vibrant mix of tagua, acai and huacrapona seeds. This distinctive assortment of seeds is uniquely handcrafted and eco-friendly, and is available in several cheerful colors. The seeds are connected through a string with an intricate knotted pattern. There is a slipknot to place the necklace easily over your head and tighten to the desired length (up to 14 inches); the tagua nut pendant measures 3 inches in length. The tagua nut itself measures approximately 1 ½ inches and the small acai seeds measure approximately 1/3 of an inch.
Since our pieces are handcrafted of natural seeds, items of similar design may vary slightly in color, size or shape.
ABOUT TAGUA, ACAI AND HUACRAPONA SEEDS
Tagua, Vegetable Ivory or Palm Nut are all names for a seed with natural beauty harvested from palm trees indigenous to the Amazon rainforests. For more than 200 years the tagua nut has been used to make colorful and versatile jewelry pieces.
Acai (also known as Asai) seeds are smaller than tagua nuts and are also harvested from an Amazonian palm tree called asai in Spanish and acai in English. These seeds have a natural and beautiful color that is easily dyed.
Pona seeds are harvested from an Amozinaian palm tree called Huacrapona. Like the tagua nut and the acai seeds, the huarcrapona seeds have a natural ivory color that can be dyed.
